Psychotherapy versus coaching
Psychotherapy is not the same as coaching, but does have some similar goals. It is a more holistic enquiry which offers a deeper and more sustained framework of meaning through which to grow in capacity. The immediate task at hand is often healing. But, as with coaching, the work expands into domains of growth and empowerment.
I understand therapy as an activity in three domains: healing, personal growth and spiritual awakening. A powerful endeavour that could, variously, lead you to a greater sense of peace in your daily living, a promotion at work, richer relationships, or a greater sense of connection with the universe.
From a place of struggle, doubt and pain we first learn to contain our distress. Then we discover a world beyond it in which we are able to tolerate, control, and do, more. We become more than we were before. The reality is that the harder something is (and therapy is hard!), the more powerful the results it yields. It is when we stretch ourselves that we truly grow.
There are no shortcuts or "hacks". And yet psychotherapy can change your life.

I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to what light I have.
